Before Spring Break, Mrs. Yarboro’s 1st graders combined science and fun when they were asked, “Can your Peep float on your boat?”
Each student designed his or her own Peep Boat, then put it to the test!
Topics discussed while working on their boats included water properties, surface tension, and weight distribution. Students were asked:
Why did the Peep Boat float?
Which boat shapes were most stable?
Did certain boat styles not work well?
The students loved kicking off Spring with such a fun and engaging science and engineering activity!
